Considering that social media for business/development is becoming such a hot topic, am interested in networking with some fo the ugandan organizations that took part. Maybe some of their members could pass on valuable lessons to KIFAD - www.kifad.org, where i volunteer part-time. thank youJohn Kibuukahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10825606565023263446noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-18223796.post-68697285928721621902011-01-29T09:51:21.723+01:002011-01-29T09:51:21.723+01:00Hi Jolanda, thanks for sharing your insights! I liked in particular your focus on individual professional use first, then collective organisational use for organisations starting to use social media as a strategy. I conduct research on social media for an international development organisation, and have found a number of other considerations for organisations to consider in their strategy; balancing private, personal and organisational engagement, confidentiality and validation of information to post, cost-effectiveness and linkage to results, ethics, and accountability when co-creating online with others. Risk management and balancing transparency and controls are also issues for discussion among staff within organisations that set foot into social media land.
